Give back, eat fondue.
In honor of Memorial and Independence Day, The Melting Pot is giving back to the troops and they need your help.
From May 25 through July 3, the Melting Pot is asking guests to bring ‘A Bag and a Buck’ (a quart-sized bag filled with items ranging from personal hygiene products to candy, plus a $1 bill to pay for shipping) to dinner.
In return, The Melting Pot will give all participants free chocolate fondue with a $50 purchase.
The Melting Pot Restaurants will ship the supplies collected to the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army currently serving in Afghanistan.
Items most needed by the soldiers include:
- Hygiene products like deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Fruit cups
- Ramen noodles
- Hand-held games and magazines to help pass the time when off duty
- Letters offering encouragement and appreciation
