New Restaurants and Bars
The Patio – The Rainbow Room has been reinvented as The Patio – an island themed bar and restaurant located at 421 South MacDill Ave. As the name implies there is major outdoor seating at this patio pub that features live music, a long list of bottled beers, flat screens and a full menu. Find The Patio on Facebook.
Boca – Finally something is happening to the old Smoke spot on the corner of South Boulevard and Platt. In a matter of a days a new mildly-upscale, organic dining spot has moved in. The details are still limited, but the tables are set for service, so hopefully we will get over there to check it out soon.
Martini Republic – The highly anticipated new downtown martini lounge has finally opened at 912 North Franklin Street. Martini Republic offers “customized quality drinks, high end clientele services, consistency and an impressive outdoor terrace.” Join them weekly from 4-7 pm if you enjoy half off of your drinks. Find Martini Republic on Facebook.
Restaurants Making Changes
Ceviche – Ceviche is leaving South Howard. But don’t get worried about losing Tapas Tuesday in South Tampa. Ceviche is just moving up the street and over a block to 2500 West Azeele. The Grand Opening is Friday (2/3). At the new location Ceviche will be moving into new hours – offering lunch service starting at 11 everyday and a late night menu serving until 3am on weekends. Change is a good thing!
Stacked Burgers – Stacked made our list of moving restaurants when it replaced the old Tijuana Flats on Azeele almost a year ago. Now this burger and beer joint is making our pages again as they recently opened their second story into “South Tampa’s Newest Night club.” Stacked says they now have a huge dance floor, lounge area and Beer Pong room.
Closing Down for Good
Blu Bistro – The blue bistro on MacDill didn’t last too long and closed last month. No word on what will replace it.
Let us know if you see any other South Tampa restaurants or hot spots that are opening, moving or closing.
