SMOKE CLOSED IN 2011
WHERE: 901 W. Platt St.
WHAT: The best flavors of a summertime picnic pig-out without all the prep work. At Smoke you can sit back and savor in slowed-smoked brisket, short ribs, rotisserie chicken and sausage, without doing any of the leg work. Sure we all love the tastes of an authentic, outdoor summertime barbeque, but no one wants spend hours preparing sautéed green beans, southern potato salad and homemade mac and cheese. Dinner at Smoke tastes as good as those memories of cook-outs that took hours to prepare.
WHEN (To Go): When you aren’t wearing your favorite white T-shirt. BBQ this good can be hazardous. Once you dig in, it’s hard to stop, so that lightly colored tee may end up a causality of your BBQ stained fingertips. (Even if you find yourself at Smoke with that white T-shirt, don’t worry. It’s worth it.)
WHY: Because what you thought was good barbeque probably really isn’t. This is. Smoke is the real deal and you owe it to your taste buds to learn the difference.
WHO (To Take With You): The friend or family member in your life who you lovingly refer to as the Bottomless Pit. Main entrees at Smoke are no joke. The plates are filled high and wide with food that is too good to tuck into a to-go container. So come hungry one and all.

I stopped by Smoke on Monday for lunch and the place was closed. What happened to open 8 days a week?
