Editors Note:
Tampa is a waterfront city — but you wouldn’t know that by looking at our list of top restaurants.
Seafood-centric dining isn’t something that you find in abundance on our side of the bay, and few people probably have a favorite seafood spot in the city.
But CopperFish is ready to change that and take the title of Tampa’s favorite seafood place.
The Seafood Grill & Oyster Bar located on South Howard is positioning itself to be the best in the bay when it comes to fresh, seasonal seafood.
That’s not a lofty goal either.
The people behind CopperFish are the same people who brought Tampa a few of its other favorites. They created the concept for Ceviche Tapas and started Boca Kitchen Bar, Ciro’s Speakeasy, St. Bart’s Island House, and Smoke Barbecue and Grill.
It’s safe to say that Gordon and Lorena Davis know a few things about creating restaurants with first-class ambiance and flavor.
Briana Dodson tells us why CopperFish is their next big hit.
A Look Inside CopperFish
Bask in the outside ambiance on the outdoor patio overlooking a fountain for a relaxing dining experience where you can enjoy a raw oyster bar, top-notch steak, and all the perfectly prepared and seasoned fish, crab, lobster and seafood your heart desires.
Fresh is a true theme throughout this landmark fish house that has foodies from all over the country stopping in for each season’s most delicious catches.
Some of the must-try dinner menu items include the Florida Black Grouper served with a delicious brussel and mushroom hash and the Copperfish Angry Lobster (all lobsters are flown in daily) seasoned with olive oil, garlic and spicy paprika butter.
If the raw oyster bar is what you came for, you won’t be disappointed. The raw bar features everything from oysters from both the east and west coast, Hackleback caviar, little neck clams, and Copperfish’s own ceviche.
