We all know that Christmas wouldn’t be quite complete without the 24 hour screening of the 1983 classic “A Christmas Story” on TBS. You probably watch it once… twice… or maybe all day.
It feels like no matter how many times we watch little Ralphie hope for a brand new Red Ryder BB Gun, every time he rips the wrap from the gift on Christmas morning the suprise and excitement feels just like the first time.
And while you’ve seen the classic about 100 times on TV, you probably haven’t witnessed the story on the big screen.
Well this Friday (December 17), you can see Ralphie, Randy, Flick, Swartz and the rest of the gang at the Performing Art’s special, outdoor showing of the 80’s classic.
Thankfully some warm weather is headed this way and by Friday temperatures should be back in the 70’s. But bring some blankets anyway! The movie will be showing on a blow up screen along the River behind the Performing Arts center.
The event, which starts at 8pm is free, and concessions will be available for purchase.
