Get the best bang for your buck while taking a trip to Tampa Museum of Art and visit during Art After Dark.
The monthly after-hours art event is the best way to check out the museum while getting an added bonus of live music and performances.
And this month you can add a little latin to your art experience. The event, which runs from 8pm to 11pm this Friday, November 19, is themed La Música y el Museo. Aunque baje el sol, la noche estará caliente (Translation: Although the sun goes down, the night will still be hot) and will feature music by Havana Museo Swing Two and dance performances by Fred Astaire Dance Studio, so it will definitely be worth the $10 admission fee.
And while you are at the Museum you can explore the current exhibits which include: The American Impressionists in The Garden (Soft Garden Oil and Acrylic Paintings), Musical Lines In My Hands: The Work of Dominique Labauvie (Steel Sculptures), 80s Photography from the Collection (Shook Value Photography), and From Life to Death in the Ancient World (Artifacts from Ancient Greece and Italy).
There will be a cash bar available and Sono Café will be open during the event and serving foods and drinks.
The Tampa Museum of Art, along with area organizers, volunteers and artists, hosts Art After Dark on the Third Friday of the Month. Mark you calendars for the rest of 2010′s events.
